My 3 yr old shows some signs of Autism or PDD-NOS but the developmental pediatrician does not think is autism or fragile x . He has a blood test for fragile x and we are waiting for the results. I still feel he is in the high functioning autism. He has good eye contact , but doesn't play with other children at a birthday party for ex he is watching them , he is not aloof ,but seems shy to interact. At home he plays well with siblings . He rarely answers or talks to strangers . He has 3-5 word...
something even weirder... when i go to the bathroom, all i have been able to pass is this greyish slimy, stick stuff, or clumps of what looks like flesh and blood to me. other times i get a pinkish creamy discharge from my backside, and i can not go regularly. i have a colonoscopy in 2 weeks, but anyone have any guesses? (no pain, and its not internal hemmroids)

I have a nephew (my sister's son) who has Fragile X (and Autism) and I thought that it took several generations to pass on the mutated gene to where it becomes a full mutation. However, I just learned today by going to a genetic counselor that it doesn't necessarily take several generations. It could have started with my nephew, or with my sister (boys can only get it from mom), etc.

My 21 month old lost his speech, started lining up things all day, head banging and rocking and does not respond to name. He freaks out at loud sounds and will not go in the tub and he tantrums a lot. If you have an autistic child, can you tell me some of your experiences and therapies. We are starting ABA twice a day through the Early Intervention program. I still don't know where he is on the spectrum. They are already telling me the special school he would go to but I am wondering...
